My 2014.

Someone told me at the beginning of the year that 2014 could be my year, my best year, because I was going to turn 18. And 18 is a beautiful age because you can travel without parents and you can bassicaly do everything that you have been doing all your adolescence but legally. In 2014 I have cried with my final high school exams and I laughed when I got my marks. I cried while I was reading my graduation speech because I thought how much I was going to miss my friends, my teachers and the high school were I spent six amazing years. In 2014 I performed in a musical, I cried before the performance and I laughed after performing. I have travelled with my friends to Salou, Port Aventura, to Mojacar and to Vienna to watch my favourite rock band in 2014. And, isn´t travelling the best was of enjoying a year? This year I moved to Murcia, I cried before becoming independent because I wanted to live with my mum forever. I cried the first day of University because I was so nervous, I was afraid of being rejected. But now, I can laugh in peace, because I love Murcia, I love my University, I love my degree and I really love my classmates. Actually, I wouldn´t change my life. So, to sum up, I want to give thanks to everybody that has helped me to make this year an amazing year. Please 2015, be as good as 2014.

EVALUABLE PRACTICE 3

Task: Write a short Problem/Solution essay (around 250 words) about an issue you consider worth analysing. 

  The worst problem that Spain has at the moment are the cut backs in pubic health and schools. Cut backs are a very serious problem, many doctors, nurses and teachers are getting fired because of the,. Moreover, there are people that have health problems that can´t be solved because the public health doesn´t pay a treatment for them and they can´t afford the private health. To have a very good education is very important for a person´s life, but, nowadays the schools can´t give to their students the best education because there are not enough teachers and there are too many students per class.

  The only solution that I see is to fire as many politicians as we can, because Spain does not need all those politicians. There are other countries, like Germany, that are bigger but, in contrast, have fewer politicians. Spain spends too much money paying each politician his income. I can not understand why a politician needs to get payed that much, maybe the cut backs have to be done at their salaries and not in public health and schools. A politician does not work more than a teacher or a doctor and, in my opinion, a politician is not as useful as a doctor.

  In conclusion, the problem of Spain are politicians and the way they can´t think about the well-being of the population.

Dreams come true.

I´ve always been a dreamer. I trust in myself and I know that I can achieve all my goals. I´m the type of person that fights very hard until she has what she wants. And usually, as a result of my perseverance, I get what I want. I read years ago that when you really want something, the whole Universe conspire to make it come true.
I´ve always had three dreams. (Yes, it would be very easy to make them true if I had a genius, but I didn´t.) I wanted a cat, to see Linkin Park in live and to visit Moscow.
My first dream came true the day of my 18th birthday when my friends, being tired of listening to me complaining everyday because my mum didn´t want to have a cat, persuaded my mum and bought it to me. The next two were more difficult to have but I didn´t give up. Last November, I saw in live Linkin Park. I went to Vienna with one of my best friends and it was an unforgettable travel. I have listened to Linkin Park since I was 14 and they ae my favourite group, when I listen to their music a lot of emotions come to me, I can´t explain it. So, listening to Chester singing a few metres of me was just amazing. I think it is the best experience I have never experienced. Now, I only need to save more money and go to Russia, and, having a Russian friend makes things easier.
If I can accomplish all my dreams, everybody can.

2nd Evaluable Practice.

Task: Write an outline for an essay. Include a thesis statement, supporting ideas and details.

The most beautiful place in the world is Florence, the italian city:

1. Florence has terrific views.
• "Ponte Vecchio", where there are many jewelry shops
• "Il Duomo", called "Santa Maria del Fiore" It has an image of Dante Alighieri.
2. Florence has also many interesting museums.
• Uffici Gallery, where "The birth of Venus" is.
3. A lot of  activities to do.
• Visit the Pitti Palace, visit the markets, etc.
4. Italian people are very nice.
• They are funny.
• They are friendly.
5. Amazing gastronomy.
• Ice-creams, there are a lot of flavours.
• Pasta of many varieties. Many restaurants make fresh pasta.
• Pizza.
• "The fiorentina", it is a big steak.
• "Burrata" is like mozzarella but with an addition of cream

In clonclusion, everybody should visit Florence at least once in their lives.

Outline.

1. Cats vs other pets.

• Cats are the best pets.
• People tend to think that the best pets are dogs but I am going to explain why not.

2. Arguments pro cats.

• Cats are more independent than dogs. 
• You don´t need to walk a cat, they only need a clean place to make their necessities.
• Cats are very soft and warm so sleeping with them in winter is incredible. 
• You don´t need to clean a cat because cats are very clean.

3. So, in conclusion, a cat is the perfect pet for a person that can´t stay all the day at home.

• Cats won´t miss you when you are away, they will sleep until you arrive.

Thanksgiving.

Yesterday was Thanksgiving Day so I want to post what I´m thankful for.
2014 has been my year, I am really enjoying it and this wouldn´t be possible without my family, my classmates and my friends. I am very thankul for being surrounded by nothing but great people.
 I´m very thankful for my family, because I know they will always be by my side, supporting me. Because without their effort this wouldn´t be possible, they trust in me and  encourage me to study and to be a better person. I´m very thankful for my friends, because they always know how to make me laugh, even in my worst moments. I know I can trust in them because nobody knows me better than them. I´m thankful for my classmates, they make my days easier, they make my lessons funnier, they are amazing.
So, summarising, I am thankful for everything I have, for all those little things.

Problem/Solution.

The public health is a very big problem in Spain because even though we have a great sistem, the government is always cutting back the aids for it. A lot of people are having health problems because they can´t afford the private health. In my opinion, the solution is very simple, in Spain there are too many politicians and their salaries are too big, so, the best solutions would be to fire some politicians that aren´t required and give all the saved money to the public health.

Changing your name. Thesis Statement.

Should people be aloud to change their name? I´m against people who change their names, it is just another way for criminals to hide.

Advantages and disadvantages of living without parents.

Two months ago I moved to Murcia. That means that, after 18 years of living with my mum, I needed to grow up and became independent. Living without parents has a lot of good things, but, like everything, also has a lot of bad things. First of all, you need to cook every day if you want to eat something good and you will never be as good cooker as your mum. But, if you cook for yourself, you´ll eat everyday what you want and you aren´t forced to eat something that you dislike. In te second place, in a flat you clean your room when you want, your mum doesn´t tell you when do you need to clean, but you must clean the living room, the kitche or the bathroom because you live with more people. When you live alone you are more free, you can go out when you want without giving explanations to anyone, but, you will always have limited money.
Another thing that you don´t realise until you live alone is how expensive is food, when you live with your parents they make the shopping, but when you live alone you have to go and pay for it.
Homesick is another big fact. Sometimes I really miss my mum, my cat and my little sisters.
But, after all, I wouldn´t change my actual situation, University life is good and it is another experience to add to the story of my life.

Halloween

Halloween has come and passed. I don´t really like Halloween because I´m very fearful and I dislike people dress up as scary clowns or deads because this really scares me. Yesterday I went with some friends to dinner out because it was the 21st birthday of a friend and there it was a very scary clown and it went all the night persecuting me, I was nearly to cry. I am very superstitious so I hate all these things about ghosts and witches. Sometimes is funny but, to be honest, I am not a brave person, I can´t see horror films alone or neither can I walk alone in the night.

Healthy food vs junk food. Comparing and contrasting.

Last week we did in class an activity in which we had to compare and contrast two women, Belén Esteban and Kate Middleton, the first one, in my case, would be junk food and the second, healthy food. In what way are they similar? In what are they different? Well, Belén and Kate are both women who are recognised because they have or had a relationship with a famous man, and junk and healthy food are both this, food. and the two can feed you. but, which one is better? The doctors woulds say that junk food is rubbish and you don´t need it, cinema experts would say the same thing about Belén Esteban but I have a very different opinion. It is well known that if you want to be healthy you mustn´t eat junk food but, what about these lazy sundays when the only thing you are interested in is watching bad TV series or films eating ice creams, chips, etc? To stay healthy, there is nothing better than eating healthy food, doing some sport and reading a good book, but, some days you just need to lay on the sofa, eat some chocolate and watch some stupid films or TV series. In my opinion, it should be a balance between "good" and "bad" things.

Evaluable practice.

Task: Write an opinion paragraph (125-150 words) about something you really like but most people don´t like at all.

The Vampire Diaries is my favourite  TV serie since I watched the first season. I started to watch it because my best friend recommended it to me. I love this serie because the actors are so good, Ian Somerhalder, one of the protagonists, is the most handsome man I´ve ever seen. This TV serie is abut two brothers (Stefan and Damon) that get in lovewith the same girl and they live in a town where  a lot of people are vampires, wolfs or witches. Moreover, this serie has a lot of action and I like it so much  because it represents some teenager´s problemsas romance or hih school and it also includes magic, and I love magic. Most people don´t like this serie because they think it´s boring and it is only for a teenager girl. But I don´t think so. The Vampire Diaries is amazing and I don´t care  what other people say, I´m free to watch whatever I like.

¿Book or film?

A book and a film can tell us the same story but in a very different way. First of all, both are a good way to spend your spare time. With a book, you usually spend a few days whereas with a film you spend a few hours. Moreover, with a book you get more detailed information, the film just show you the story in broad strokes, reading a book you can know a character and how he thinks better. In addition, reading is a very good hobby, it is very good for you because it helps to train your brain, it also reduces the risks of suffer alzheimer, besides, it helps you to imprve your concentration and it reduces stress. Likewise, reading is a cheap entertainment, going to the cinema can be very expensive. In contrast, you can watch a film with friends but normally you read alone. But, you can read a book wherever you want not the same as a film, where you need a cinema, a TV or a computer.
When you have read a book and then you go to watch the film, you always think 'I prefer the book, the film is not like I imagined it.'

Opinion paragraph: Friendship in teenagers.

How important is for a teenager to have good friends? It is well known that a lot of teenagers have many problems to integrate in the society because sometimes people can be very cruel, and if
you´re not into the stereotypes you can be rejected.

Having friends it´s very very positive for everybody but even more when you are a teenager. When you are a teenager you need someone to help you with your first love problems, someone you can´t talk to without worrying what will he think about me, someone who understands you perfectly and someone who you can share your best moments with. That is the definition of a friend.
The adolescence is a very hard period but if you are surrounded by amazing people it can go very well. Everybody should be entitled to have good friends. I am very lucky, because I can count on my friends.




To conclude, I would like to introduce my best friends, Aynara, Andrea and Sheila. We like to call ourselves "Beefeater´s friends". These girls make my days happier.

My flatmates.

Living together with my flatmates is fantastic. Each one cooks his own food but sometimes we dinner together. We have no problem to clean, in the fridge there is a schedule with the things that each one has to clean. At nights, we always watch TV together, it´s our moment to relax and tell how was the day. In conclusion, I wouldn´t change them.

Olga

Seven years ago Olga was born. Olga is one of my little sisters. When I look at her I see the most beautiful green eyes I´ve ever seen. Her smile makes people laugh because she is gap-toothed but it´s also very pretty. She likes dancing too much, you will always find her dancing or singing all over my house. Olga is the only person that can make me smile even in my worst moments.

Florence

  What is my favourite place in the world? Italy is maybe the most beautiful place I´ve ever been. Two years ago I went to the Tuscan with my friends and some teachers. We visited Pisa, Florence and Siena. 

  

  We stayed 5 nights in Florence but we went by train to visit Pisa and Siena. The Tower of Pisa was absolutely terrific, you can feel when you go up the stairs how it is leaning. We took the traditional photo holding the Tower and it was very funny. 

  

  The city I like the most is Florence, I always say that it´s a magic city because of its charming. We visited the Uffizzi Gallery, il Duomo, the piglet fountain, etc. 

Italy is very famous too about their ice cream, I can claim that you won´t taste an ice cream as good as in Italy. They have a lot of variety but it´s expensive because all the tourists want to try 'il gelato italiano'. I really recomend it. We ate 3 times a day or more ice cream. 

In conclusion, I think Florence is the best place I have ever visited. I would come back without thinking it. Ci vediamo Italia!

Life on campus

This summer I´ve been very nervous about the new life I was going to start in September. I´m from Alicante but I decided to study in Murcia instead of Alicante because I like more the city of Murcia than Alicante. I moved into a flat with three other students. Living together is so good, I thought I would miss home more, but I am very happy with my new flat mates. I was very excited about meeting new people, but also I was so nervous because I had fear of being rejected. Now, I´ve met a lot of amazing people, I have a good social life, going to parties. dinner out, and all these things only in 2 weeks. I´m very lucky because I´m studying what I want, where I want and surrounded by people that I love.
